With his hands, he can amplify or extinguish flames. While Auristela conjures flames, Aurelio has the ability to manipulate them. Like his sister, his powers and abilities are also fire-based. He feels closest to Auristela as he expresses great sorrow and anger as he nearly loses her when she is about to be sacrificed by Teo and when she forces him to let go when she and many other semidioses are taken by the Obsidians.

He also follows his own moral compass, but sometimes chooses to ignore it as seen when he leaves the boat with Teo despite the potential consequences. He also tries to be helpful with Teo despite the latter's disdain and resentment towards him for most of the novel. Unlike his sister and mother, he is much kinder and more open to others as seen when he brings enough candy for everyone to share with. His skin is very warm as result of inheriting his mother's fire abilities.Īt first glance, Aurelio appears to be stoic and detached, however it is a mask that covers his more dynamic personality. He also appears to be quite muscular and athletic.

He appears as a tall, handsome 17-year-old boy who ties his black hair back in a stylized ponytail. This led to Teo resenting Aurelio as he believed that Aurelio's status as a Gold led to the deterioration, although Aurelio still kept thinking of Teo afterwards.Īurelio appears with his sister to extinguish a fire that was burning in one of Quetzlan's buildings where, coincidentally, Teo was as well.Īurelio inherits much of his traits from his mother Lumbre. However, the friendship ended when Aurelio had to go to the Academy with his sister and Ocelo and was told that he could not mingle with Teo, because Teo is a Jade. Before the series, Aurelio and Teo once had a wonderful friendship and were once best friends.
